The truth
Will out
They sometimes
Say
And justice
Will prevail
Some
Day
Also
Love will
Find a
Way
Yes that’s
All great
But if
I may
Could I
Please ask
What’s the
Delay?

I can’t
‘Member
Where
It is
Or why
I am
Looking
For it
I don’t
Know when
I had
It last
Or where
I most
Often
Store it
In fact
I don’t
Know what
It is
Nor how
I know
It is
Missing
All I
Know’s that
I am
Here now
But that
My mind’s
Gone a-
Fishing

I want
To know
(If you so
pleases)
If lesser
Beasts
Catch my
diseases?
I ask
Because
I am a
Human
We are
In charge
Is that not
True man?
Are there
Weasels
Who have
Measles?
Perhaps
Some oxes
Vexed by
poxes?
Or, say
A flea
who's got
The flu?
Snakes
With their aches?
Gnus
Feeling blue?
A worm with
it's own worms?
A kinked
kangaroo?
Do those low
Creatures
All feel
My pain?
Each ill and
Disorder
Of which
I complain?
Yes I’m
Only human
And just a bit
Curious
Because if
They don’t
Then I will
Be furious

The nights
Will be shorter now
As we push on
Toward the light
Let the sun
Grow strong
Let it illuminate
Cleanse, purify
Let it kill
Let the corruption
Wither and die
Let the lies
Be burned away
So we can
Start again
Just be sure
To get it all
Because the long nights
Will return
Yes, voting matters. Polls do not.
